Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care encompasses much more than managing back pain. Chiropractic physicians practice a drug-free, holistic approach to healthcare, and utilize a variety of natural therapies in order to treat their patients. Chiropractors possess broad diagnostic skills and are trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary, and lifestyle counseling. Because every patient is unique, and the response to similar therapies may differ, treatment plans will vary from individual to individual. Sometimes a manipulation or manual therapy may be appropriate, whereas other times, acupuncture or nutritional intervention may be a more appropriate treatment option. Be assured, the staff at Remedy will build a treatment plan around your unique health concerns.

Chiropractic Manipulation

Often referred to as an adjustment, this chiropractic specialty therapy is generally applied to a joint with an abnormal movement pattern. The goal of the joint manipulation is to restore proper biomechanics, improve and maintain joint range of motion, and decrease nerve irritation and muscle spasms.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy includes an array of hands-on techniques that are aimed at releasing muscle spasm, muscle hypertonicity, and joint restrictions. Manual therapies range from gentle to aggressive treatments, depending on the patient's need and tolerance.

Functional Rehabilitation

Therapeutic, strengthening, and flexibility exercises, along with physiological therapeutics such as electric muscle stimulation, interferential current, and infrared therapy are often incorporated into treatment plans. Hot moist packs and ice packs (cryotherapy) may also be used during treatment sessions. All modalities are incorporated to decrease healing time, improve tissue flexibility, and prevent future pain exacerbation. Patients are also prescribed specific home exercise and rehab regimens to follow so they can continue to remedy their musculoskeletal health away from the office.
